A life spent looking closer
David Adam Williams, known to millions as Adam "The Woo", turned simple curiosity into a lifelong practice – noticing overlooked places, small details, and the stories hidden in everyday roadsides and theme parks.
Adam was born David Adam Williams in Tupelo, Mississippi, and grew up in a family that moved often for his father's work as a Protestant youth minister. Without much television at home, he learned early to entertain himself by exploring his surroundings and paying attention to the world outside his front door.
As a young adult in Florida, his love of punk rock and live shows led him to form the band The New Threat. What began as filming moments with friends and bandmates slowly turned into something larger: travel footage, roadside oddities, abandoned spaces, movie locations, and the small in‑between places most people drove past without a second thought.
Around the late 2000s he began posting regularly to YouTube, eventually creating his "adamthewoo" channel and later "TheDailyWoo". Living for long stretches out of a van, he crisscrossed the United States, visiting all fifty states while documenting abandoned haunts, roadside attractions, filming locations, and, eventually, the theme parks and communities that became a central part of his work.
His calm, conversational style and gentle humor made viewers feel like they were traveling alongside a friend. Over time, his channels grew to thousands of videos and a large audience who came not only for the places he visited, but for the sense of comfort and companionship he offered on long days and late nights.
In later years Adam made his home in Celebration, Florida, often featuring his parents and sister in his vlogs as he continued to document everyday life, holiday traditions, and new adventures near and far. He died in December 2025 at the age of 51, leaving behind a body of work that captured not just locations, but a way of seeing – curious, kind, and unhurried.
